Deezer - Spotify Rival

I have been using a music service called Deezer for around a month now.

The service works similar to Spotify. But after using Spotify for around 6 months I think this is the next step in terms of music technology.

Anyone can access Deezer and its a simple music database with millions of songs. One thing that struck me was the OFFLINE MODE. This was clever. Deezer gives you an option to keep playing music offline. I like this. This is similar to Spotify’s offline  access however it is brilliant for the Chromebook or general offline situations.

The layout is also a very nice feature as it allows you to be more social and more free with your music. You are given a profile page after signin. This signin is very easy and users can access this via Facebook. You can also upload your own music or even intergrate your account with SoundCloud.

The service is fresh in the UK and is available on your Android devices. Not sure about iOS but with expansion that would be the logic.

Although the service is similar to Spotify, I think it has lots of potential and lots of time to expand. So check it out. 1/600 Facebook friends are on this. So get it before it turns into the “kik” phase on Facebook.

Final word: Check it out!

Thanks all, Stay Classy.

Jolicloud Me Invite

Waking up and seeing a Jolicloud Me invite in my Gmail account made the start of my day so much better. So I decided I would make a review for you on the service.

What is Jolicloud Me?

A lot of you are probably wondering what Jolicloud Me is. Jolicloud Me is a cloud based network that allows users to store information on a cloud. Jolicloud Me allows you to have a more personal cloud allowing you to add your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (Basically Facebook now) to the cloud.

The service has been around a while however they have only just released the private beta invites and I was lucky enough to grab one.

Lets Start

To start they sent me the email in which I followed the links to the site on, logged in and I was asked to wait whilst my personal cloud was being created. When I was entered to my personal cloud. It looked fantastic! It was all my photos, Tweets, Links, Music, Documents in one location. I started then playing around  with the “Collections” which works like folders, choosing what I wanted storing in each etc. I could make these Collections public or so my friends can view them.

It was a big cloud of my social data. I then had a cheeky look for an upload button, seeing whether you can add more to your cloud. And couldn’t find one. So I had found a negative to this service. Ekkk

I believe the service is also available on mobile devices, Android and iOS. And this picture has to confirm it :D But there is no link for a download to this anywhere on the site

Overall

The Cloud is nice to use and its simple as it keeps a track of all your data in case a social network of yours gets hacked. It is clean and easy to use however I believe many users would want to see a upload button. In a nut shell It is a history book and a fantastic storage location for social data.

For what it does - 4.6/5.0

3 Things this past week

The first blog post of Cesi’s Tech blog, starting here I will pump one post out each week (maybe more) about various different technologies and new companies etc. that you may be unaware of.

These are the BIG Stories of this week.

  1. PhoneDeck - Phonedeck has been out for a while now however it has just been released to the public. The service allows you to sync your Android phone contacts to a PC and basically use your phone on your PC, Send texts, Calls, see Insight, Blahdy Blah. I have a Android phone so decided I’d start using this service. At the start it was quite slow but this was down to the Servers at Phonedeck HQ were down - https://twitter.com/#!/phonedeck - This is their Twitter account said anyway. I found and am still finding the service brilliant to use. It is easy and brilliant for if you forget your phone or want to use the internet and leave the phone charging in a separate room. So this is my HOT tech of the week.

Check it out. - http://phonedeck.com/

 2.  Friday App - I heard about this upcoming App via Twitter. And almost exploded with excitement. It was a brilliant idea something many companies had tried and failed on. I will let the video that they sent out to explain it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vTqYgcKJZ0

This app is from the same people who brought iris for Android. I believe this app can be the big game changer. However when it comes to making a brand new app, you should always consider the iOS store. Many of the apps haven’t yet been expanding to this so they are going to lose the big crowds of iOS users. But I’m sure both Phonedesk and FridayApp will expand to this. Meanwhile this app is the LOOKOUT of the week for technology users, even though you can’t access it yet thanks to its private beta access.

3.  Finally the BIG news is Project Glass by Google - The video posted on Youtube has hit 10,000,000 views in 4 days. To be honest I don’t have any complaints about these new glasses that allow you to do daily tasks. Being helped out by Google is pretty cool as you patrol the streets. They didn’t give you much more info on these glasses than the video. However after watching some vlogs about them, the general hint is google will release them at end of 2012/ early 2013.

The problems with the service is not many people are on Google+, so the glasses maybe less important to avid Facebook users. And many people see them being a health hazard.

Sergey Brin, Google Co founder was spotted wearing the prototypes. I saw this image and saw straight away that they could be less of a problem as they were out of the eyes vision of sight.

Really excited about this one and will keep you posted.

Thanks for reading this Blog.

And Enjoy the week of Technology :D
